Jamaica’s men’s 4x400m relay team qualified for the final in the event at the World Athletics Indoor Championships after finishing third in their first round heat at the Kujawsko-Pomorska Arena in Toruń, Poland, Sunday morning.
The quartet of Reheem Hayles, Tyrice Taylor, Kimar Farquharson and Demar Francis were just edged out by Hungary for second place but their time of 3:05.68 was fast enough to advance.
Belgium won the heat with 3:05.25 while second-placed Hungary ran a national record 3:05.67.
Defending champions USA also qualified on time after finishing third in their first round heat, which was won by the Netherlands with Portugal finishing second.
