#Champs2026: JC’s Edwards stays on course for repeat jumps double
Fresh from retaining his boys Class 1 long jump title on Wednesday, Jamaica College’s Michael-Andre Edwards remained on course to defend his double after leading the qualification in the Class 1 triple jump on Thursday’s third day of the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Athletics Championships at the National Stadium.

Edwards needed just one attempt to get the automatic qualifying mark of 14.90m with a 15.43m (0.1m/s) effort while Kingston College’s Amani Phillips also need a single jump, 15.00m (1.6m/s), to book his spot.
Rekelme Hunter of Kingston College-15.41m (0.9m/s), Rajae Williams of Titchfield High with a wind-aided 15.16m (3.2m/s) and Calabar High’s Kaleel Samuels- 14.98m (-0.5m/s) all attained the automatic qualifying marks.
