ST THOMAS, Jamaica—A motorist died as a result of injuries he sustained during a crash along Pamphret main road in St Thomas, Wednesday evening.
The deceased man has been identified as Alrick Powell, a resident of Rock Hall, St Andrew.
According to a report from the St Thomas police, about 7:40 pm Wednesday, Powell and another man were travelling in a 2015 black Honda Fit motor car along the Pamphret main road when Powell reportedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a wall.
Both occupants sustained injuries and were taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital, where Powell succumbed to his injuries. The other man remains hospitalised.
The St Thomas police say speeding is suspected to be the cause of the crash and appealed to motorists to obey the rules of the road.
