Controversial dancehall artiste Chronic Law has been released out of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after 10 weeks of speculation and uncertainty surrounding his detention in the United States.
The artiste live-streamed himself while driving in a car after he appeared in court in Georgia. Several photos also emerged online on various platforms.
The artiste, whose real name is Ackeme Jermaine Campbell, had been held at a Florida detention facility since January 12.
Public records show that Chronic Law was arrested in Turner County, Georgia, in November 2025 on several traffic-related charges. Authorities swooped in and arrested the Empty deejay, shocking members of the dancehall community.
Chronic Law has been YouTube Jamaica’s most-streamed artiste over the last couple of years.
His music is dominated by dark, gritty narratives of street life. He is best known for most-streamed songs including Empty, Bless Me, Still A Bleed, Walk With Faith, Corrupt, Hillside, Plastic Smile, and Count My Blessings.
