#Champs2026: JC’s D’Aguilar springs surprise in boys Class 2 discus throw
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica College’s Nasir D’Aguilar created a mild upset when he threw a personal best 54.18m to win the boys Class 2 discus gold medal at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Athletic Championships at the National Stadium.
D’Aguilar, who was fourth in the shot put final, took over the lead in the final when he threw 50.79m in the third round and then improved to 53.86 in the fourth and 54.18m in the fifth round.
Munro College’s Brandon Lawrence repeated his silver medal performance from last year with a best mark of 50.47m, with his teammate Ashan Haffenden taking third with 46.80m.
