At least 13 people have been transported to the hospital after a vehicle struck multiple parade participants in New Iberia, Louisiana, on Saturday, prompting a large emergency response and multiple medical transports, according to local reports.

The Iberia Parish Sheriff's Department (IPSD) said it is investigating after the incident occurred at a New Iberia festival, KATC reported.

Acadian Ambulance said in a post on X that its initial deployment included seven ambulances and one Air Med helicopter, with three additional ambulances and another helicopter later dispatched as the scale of the incident became clear.

The agency said 11 patients were transported by ground and two patients were airlifted for treatment. Four patients are in critical but further details on the conditions of the injured were immediately released.

Local authorities have not yet provided additional information about the driver or the circumstances of the crash.
