Following protests and a general strike in Nicosia, government representatives and trade unions have begun negotiations on a bill regarding cost-of-living compensation.
Minister of Labor and Social Security Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu stated that the government is ready to listen to the unions' position and proposed creating a negotiation platform to discuss the situation. According to him, four ministers are ready for dialogue, and the authorities are counting on constructive steps from the unions.

KTAMS union leader Güven Bengihan noted that in the face of global conflicts and economic difficulties, the country does not need new conflicts, emphasizing the importance of dialogue, peace, and seeking compromise.
KTÖS General Secretary Burak Maviş reported that a meeting has already taken place involving the Prime Minister and five ministers, during which the parties exchanged views. According to him, the unions hope for a solution in the interest of citizens—either the withdrawal of the bill or regular income indexation due to the rising cost of living.
Maviş also thanked everyone who supported the strike, noting that there were injuries and tear gas was used during the protests, but emphasized that no one should pit citizens against the police.
