New Boyz Brooks and Mason-Clark start on debut for Jamaica against New Caledonia
New English-born recruits Andre Brooks and Ephron Mason-Clark are in the starting lineup on their debut for Jamaica as the Reggae Boyz face New Caledonia in the intercontinental World Cup playoff on Thursday at the Akron Stadium in Mexico.
Brooks and Mason-Clark are among a trio of new English-born recruits in the Rudolph Speid-coached side in their last chance attempt at qualifying for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada this summer, the other being 20-year-old Tyrese Hall who will start on the bench.
If the Reggae Boyz prevail against New Caledonia, they will face off against DR Congo next Tuesday for a spot in the global spectacle.
The starting line-up for Thursday’s match is: Captain Andre Blake (goalie), Ronaldo Webster, Ethan Pinnock, Richard King, Joel Latibeaudiere, Karoy Anderson, Isaac Hayden, Andre Brooks, Ephron Mason-Clark, Bailey-Tye Cadamarteri and Tyreece Campbell.
The subs for the match are: Jahmall Waite, Amal Knight, Amarii Bell, Damion Lowe, Kyle Ming, Kasey Palmer, Tyrese Hall, Leon Bailey, Renaldo Cephas, Norman Campbell and Jamal Lowe.
Kick-off for the match will be 10:00 pm Jamaica time.
