A third suspect has been remanded in custody in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old man in Kalamaria, Thessaloniki, on March 12, authorities said Friday.
The 21-year-old appeared before an examining magistrate in Thessaloniki, facing charges of aggravated bodily harm, gang membership, and possession of dangerous objects under sports violence statutes.
He told the court he accompanied victim Kleomenis, to meet the alleged killer – a 23-year-old – because the older man had been “bothering” young and underage individuals over rival football allegiances. He denied carrying weapons.
The 23-year-old suspect claims he acted in self-defense.
