Spanish Town Police upset Mt Pleasant in JPL

KINGSTON, Jamaica—Relegation-threatened Spanish Town Police maintained their fight against the drop after scoring an upset 1-0 win over title-chasing Mt Pleasant FA in their rescheduled Jamaica Premier League third round game played at Royale Lakes Complex on Thursday.

Spanish Town Police upset Mt Pleasant in JPL

Ryieme Gayle scored Spanish Town Police’s first-ever goal against the Caribbean club champions to win their sixth game, snapping a six-game winless run.

Despite the win, Spanish Town Police are still at the foot of the table on 23 points and are four points behind 13th placed Molynes United and five away from safety.

Mt Pleasant FA had won the previous two games against Spanish Town Police this season by a 9-0 margin and were being beaten by a relegation zone team in a rescheduled game for the second time this season after going down to Harbour View by the same margin on February 19, ironically, their most recent loss in the JPL.
