Regarding the lack of communication, Guardiola told reporters that he was grumpy with Bernardo because he had requested to be the first person informed of any decision. The manager emphasized that the player has not yet spoken to him about his plans, leaving the situation unresolved. Guardiola noted that the decision rests entirely with the player, who is expected to inform the club, the media, and the fans when he is ready.

Since joining the club from Monaco in 2017, Silva has become a central figure at Manchester City. Guardiola stated that he would prefer for Silva to remain at the club and finish his professional career there.
