The incident occurred as Buckingham arrived for an appointment in Santa Monica. When the musician walked into the building, the woman threw an unknown liquid substance from a container at the former Fleetwood Mac guitarist.

“The Los Angeles Police Department’s Threat Management Unit is working with the Santa Monica Police Department to investigate this incident. To protect the integrity of the open and ongoing investigation, no further comment will be provided at this time,” the LAPD said in a statement to Rolling Stone. Santa Monica Police identified the suspect as a suspected stalker to NBC4 Investigates, who first reported the incident.
According to the outlet, the unnamed woman has been involved in past incidents of stalking that involve Buckingham. The Los Angeles Police Department also confirmed to the L.
A. Times that the woman had a history of stalking Buckingham. An arrest has not yet been made. According to authorities, the incident is still under investigation, but they believe the woman found out the location and timing of Buckingham’s appointment and followed him there. Representatives for Buckingham did not immediately return Rolling Stone’s request for comment.
