Conjoined twin dies
Azora Elson, one of the Jamaican conjoined twins who was successfully separated in Saudi Arabia late last year, has died.
Her death was confirmed by her mother, Iesha McMurray, on Tuesday. McMurray, who has shared the twins’ journey via social media, made the revelation via Instagram.

“Just memories. Yuh fight mi baby. You gave me strength to push through. Now you’re resting in the arms of the Lord,” she wrote over photos shared via her Instagram story. “Mi neva ready for this. I love you forever my sweet angel.”
Azora was successfully separated from her twin, Azaria, during a five-hour surgery that was done in six stages with 25 medical personnel. At birth, the twin girls had been conjoined at the lower chest, abdomen and liver.
After the surgery, Saudi doctors had indicated that Azora would need a heart transplant to survive. She had been in the paediatric intensive care unit (ICU) at King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre for some time while her sister had left the ICU and was recovering well.
