“A Great Awakening” comes at a time when many are looking for relief and something to believe in.

Let us proclaim freedom to the captives whom the sun sets free is free indeed.” Of Whitefield’s delivery Joseph (Daniel Gorham), the Black worker in Franklin’s print shop, says: “Have you ever heard a voice like that? A blast from heaven.”
Whitefield and Franklin’s lives and beliefs could not have been more different. Whitefield is the passionate evangelist who ignited a spiritual revival across the American colonies. Franklin, the printer and statesman, described himself as a “thorough deist.”
At the center of this tale is the Constitutional Convention of 1787, where tensions run high. Surrounded by fellow delegates such as James Madison and Alexander Hamilton, Franklin delivers one of the most unexpected speeches of the convention. He calls for the divided assembly to prayer and reminds them of the spiritual foundation upon which the nation was formed.
Directed by Joshua Enck, “A Great Awakening” also stars Josh Bates. ‘The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’ “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” is super hyped with cacophonous, cartoonish characters and a mishmash of substandard subplots. ‘The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’ is more appropriate for children ten and younger, rather than the entire family. For family entertainment, moviegoers best bet is the animated “Hoppers.”
In the “…Mario Movie,” Mario (Chris Pratt) and Luigi (Charlie Day) are drawn back into action when a mysterious call for help points toward the unexplored past of Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy). The mission pulls Mario and Luigi off familiar ground. They—and their new family of friends—journey across the galaxy.
Interestingly, John Leguizamo boycotted “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” in 2023. He explained there were no Latin characters.
Black parents taking their kids to see “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” will be hard-pressed to see any Black characters onscreen in the Mushroom Kingdom, or anywhere else in the Galaxy for that matter. Directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, “Mario” is also voiced by Jack Black, Keegan-Michael Key, Benny Safdie, Donald Glover, Issa Rae, Luis Guzman, Kevin Michael Richardson, and Brie Larson.
