HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A man who broke into a southwest Houston home is in critical condition after being shot by the homeowner overnight Monday, according to the Houston Police Department.

Investigators said two men were running down the street on Ingomar Way near Campden Hill, and knocking on several doors just after midnight. Police said one of the men was wearing a mask, and the other had blood on his head.
HPD said they're still investigating how the bloodied man got injured before the shooting. Authorities said the bloodied man kicked in the door of a home in the 4800 block, forced himself inside, and was then shot multiple times by the homeowner. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, police said. "
The male in the mask took off running in an unknown direction," Lt. J.
P. Horelica said. According to authorities, the masked suspect is still at large. Neighbors were shocked to learn about the shooting. "
