A murder probe is underway after a man who was found unconscious in a street has died.
A murder probe is underway after a man who was found unconscious in a street has died. Emergency services were sent to Crescent Road in Crumpsall, Manchester, at around 11.50pm on Monday (March 23), responding to concerns about a man's welfare. The man was discovered unconscious on the road and rushed to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police scenes were put in place overnight and throughout, today, Tuesday (March 24), on Wellington Road and Crescent Road . Forensic officers and detectives were seen carrying out investigations, with an evidence tent set up on the pavement and officers maintaining the cordon. Floral tributes have since been placed at the scene of the incident.
Photographs show police tape cordoning off the area, with several police vehicles present, reports the Manchester Evening News . A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody. Officers are still attempting to piece together the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Two scenes on Wellington Road and Crescent Road remain active as officers "explore all lines of enquiry". Detective Inspector Chris Chadderton from the City of Manchester Division said: ”
This is a tragic incident in which a man has sadly lost his life, and our thoughts are firmly with his loved ones. "
We have a team of detectives working to piece together the events leading up to his death and are continuing to explore all available lines of enquiry. We urge anyone who may have seen anything, or has CCTV, doorbell, mobile or dashcam footage from around the time of the incident, to please contact us as this could be vital to our investigation."
