Vybz Kartel wins Best Caribbean Music Act at MOBO Awards
King of Dancehall Vybz Kartel emerged the winner of the Best Caribbean Music Act at the 2026 Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards.

It was the 30th anniversary staging of the awards, which was founded by Kanya King.
The ceremony, held on Thursday at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena in the United Kingdom, saw Grammy’s Best New Artiste Olivia Dean taking home the night’s biggest haul, three awards.
Vybz Kartel beat Masicka, Shenseea, Lila Ike, Ayetian, and Trinidad’s Yung Bredda for the coveted award, which recognises Caribbean music in the United Kingdom.
Kartel, however, lost in the Best International Act category to Ayra Starr.
Last year, the Fever deejay was presented with the MOBO Impact Award. He was previously nominated three times for the Best Reggae Act trophy. That category was renamed Best Caribbean Music Act.
