The GabRu loveteam is finally over. After four years of filling our nights with ultimate “kilig” goodness, Kapuso actors Gabbi Garcia and Ruru Madrid are officially parting ways.
The actress turned to Twitter to release her official statement regarding the love team’s sudden “break-up”.
“I honestly learned A LOT from the past years, may it be personal life /work,” she said. “For that, I would like to thank everybody who supported GabRu for the past 4 years.”
Their on-screen pairing started in 2015, after they starred in the GMA romantic comedy-drama. “Let The Love Begin”. Since then, the two booked three more prime time series, the last one being “Sherlock Jr.” It came as a surprise to fans when Gabbi’s character, Lily Pelaez, was suddenly axed on the show. Her abrupt exit sparked rumors that the 19-year-old actress will switch networks, something she strongly disproved.
“It has been a great journey filled with endless learnings and love,” she said
“I know some of you may have a hard time accepting what is currently on our plates right now, but please… look at the brighter side that we get to grow not only as artists, but as individuals in our personal lives as well!”

She also reminded the fans to stay positive despite their idols’ rift.

After fans caught wind of their sudden love team break-up many came running towards Gabbi. Most of them accused her of ending the GabRu pairing. But the actress insisted that it wasn’t her fault.
Gabbi replied to one netizen saying, “I just don’t see the point. Why always put the blame on me?”
“I remained loyal since 2014? Idk i just really dont see the point… Sooo can u guys chill? Lol,” she said.
Regardless, we wish Gabbi and Ruru the best for their future careers!
